Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is commonly marketed in the United States as a blood-thinner generally prescribed to combat blood clots. Although, the serious nature of the side effects caused by Xarelto are leading to a staggering number of lawsuits.
Current and former users and their families are claiming that the risks and side effects of Xarelto were not made clear when they were prescribed the drug. Also, those who have used Xarelto are alleging that they were not properly warned about the negative effects of Xarelto prior to their usage of the drug.

- Dyspnea (difficulty breathing)
- Infection associated with hip or knee replacement surgery
- Decreased hemoglobin (a substance that carries oxygen in red blood cells)
- Hematoma (a mass in the blood)
- Peripheral edema (swelling of the lower limbs)
Plaintiffs bringing suit are doing so because of the negative consequences caused in their lives, due to their use of Xarelto. Plaintiffs’ detrimental results include failure in their ability to work or maintain job, emotional distress because of the unwanted side effects on themselves or family members, finical burdens associated with lost wages, hospital costs and continuing health care costs, and funeral costs. There are currently thousands of lawsuits underway due to the adverse effects of Xarelto in the United States.
